Consumer Price Index, Honolulu – Second Half 2016

Area prices were up 0.9 percent over the past six months, up 1.5 percent from a year ago

Prices in the Honolulu Area, as measured by the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U), increased 0.9 percent in the second half of 2016, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. (See table A.) Assistant Commissioner for Regional Operations Richard Holden noted that this latest six-month increase was influenced by higher prices for shelter and gasoline.
